Disastrous! For the last year things have been going along smoothly. I have loved my classes, teachers, ect. I was enrolled in classes that I excell in so that may have made a difference. This semster has been so troublesome! I had to drop my first class in years. By the way for those of you working on your degree it was biology with Karpie. she was highly recommended but when I found out part of the class time would be spend at Whicham Park digging up drainage ditches I bowed out. The teacher I built my whole schedule around backed out of teaching the harder math class. the teacher I have now is like every other math teacher I have experienced.... they know it but cant teach it. I am having a possible work conflict anyways with that class. If I drop I will have the nasty aftertaste of being out three hundred dollars. I have been sick all week with stomach stuff and had to leave my night class right in the middle which I never do. Oh whine whine I know I sound terrible. I am grateful to have a husband who supports my pursuit of an education. There is always next semeser but I am no longer a spring chicken!

I start my last semester next week - WooHoo!!! I took 2 classes over the summer so I can have a light fall load- 2 classes. And actually, one of the classes I have already taken. The school is making me take it over again because I got a C in it. I guess for graduate school you can only have 2 C's and that was my third one. Oops. The class I am taking now- corporate finance- sucks! I have never taken such a hard class with so much work. Thank goodness I have a B in it and I don't have to retake that one, too. And that class will be all over with tomorrow!!!

Don't give up!!
I remember when I was in college,I had a family, even though I was the age of the other college kids. I was married very young, and had a husband plus two children at home. Things were ten times more challenging for me! I had childhood illnesses to deal with at home,I worked part-time and to top it off I got pregnant not once but twice during college! LOL! It was sheer determination that I finished my degree,I remember being 9 months pregnant during my last internship at "midnight" in a hospital ICU....The good ole days....I don't think I have it in me now..

Well as you can see from my message I posted just a minute ago, I just went back to earn my M.A. in Exceptional Education. This is going to be a complete career shift for me, but I have had a gnawing feeling that this is something that I need to do. I am very excited about the semester. I am slightly apprehensive though, because even though I am no stranger to higher education...I have yet to attempt it with a 21 month old...it will be an adventure I am sure!
BTW - in relation to my previous post, if there is a caretaker, parent or teacher or know anyone who is, I need an "electronic pen pal" to discuss my lessons with as they relate to the "real world". Please PM me. Thanks.

This is my first semester and so far so good. I love my instructors they are very good and organized. I'm having a hard time finding time to study for tests and to do homework with a 4 year old running around it can be a challenge!! Thank God I'm not having to work right now for the life of me I can't figure out how some people do it between work, school and family I sure have a new apprecaition for the ones that have to work and go to school!!

Conmom's story is very inspiring. I think hearing things like that can help you keep going. My mom didn't go to school until my brother and I were in 2nd and 3rd grade and my cousin had 2 little ones while she was going. They both graduated from Purdue. Last semester was really hard because I was working, home schooling, an assistant scout master with the BSA and president of the parents association at one of my childrens schools. I am a single mom so I didn't have a partner to rely on. This semester feels like a breeze because I am simply working and taking only 3 classes. It is so nice to have all the kids back in school and have more of a routine. I don't think too much about the age difference anymore with my classmates. I am very immature most of the time so I fit right in.

This is my last year at UCF. I am majoring in Health Services Administration. It is so hard going to school full time and having a 2 year old. My daughter is 2 and very active. I absolutel adore her, but the only time to get any homework or studying done is when she is in bed. My husband is 22 and I am 21, so we are pretty young and have limited job experience. He is working part time, and I am despartely trying to find a job. I really want to get in with HealthFirst but have not had much luck. I am really hoping that once I get my bachelors in Health Administration I can find some great career opportunities around here.

I love conmoms story! Mainly because that is me as well. I have gone back to get my degree in the medical field, and I am young much like the other students in the class. But I have a husband and two children at home. And I am struggling with the same things. Child hood illnesses, field trips, housecleaning, ect. Leave it to my kids to get the swine flu, and I missed a whole week of classes, including clinicals. Its all alot to keep up with while attending school all day 4 days out of the week. I am managing to maintain an A average. SO, I am very proud of myself. I believe it is well worth it, and I will be happy in the end. But it is very hard. I hope everyone does well!
