Of all the events of 2009, what news story touched you the most, either positively or negatively?

Was it the death of Michael Jackson, Farah Fawcett, or Patrick Swayze?  Was it the inaugeration of President Obama? The prevalence of the swine flu? The incredible crash landing of a US Airways flight in the Hudson River? Or the incredible story surrounding "Balloon Boy" and his media-loving parents?

Or maybe it was a personal event that made 2009 an unforgettable year for you?

Brevard County Moms would love to know what events touched your lives this year.  Please reply with your post here, and and your response may be chosen to be part of an upcoming article in the Dec. issue of Brevard County Moms magazine!

Sadly, for me it was probably the Caylee Anthony story...still so sad to me.  Secondly it would be state of property values and the economy.

You should do something nice for someone every single day...even it if it is simply to leave them alone.

The lack of press a serial killer targeting black women in Los Angeles has received.

Two tragic stories have really shook me to the core - Natasha Richardson.  I  was in so much shock that this lively, smart, gifted woman died so tragically in a ski accident.  I have always been a huge fan of Liam Neeson and to see him so devastated and their two sons, I just can't imagine their grief.  And the young teenage boy in Ft. Lauderdale that was set on fire for supposedly being a snitch.  I just can't understand how these teenagers can live with themselves after what they did to this poor young kid- I just wish that Reverend Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson would visit him and make a public statement against what these teenagers did.  They attended the funeral of the boy who was beaten to death in Chicago and this young man deserves the same attention to his story and they should take a stand against the anti-snitch movement that has become so rampant in our society.
