Since another one of our children has left home and my parents and in-laws have left the state. We thought it would be wise to have an emergency plan just in case anything were to happen.  An emergency on such a scale that the  phones are down and serious enough to warrant us to take action.  Our plan is for our children to always meet us at our home, from here if need be, depending on the scale of emergency, our whole family, parents, siblings etc. have set a place were we will all meet up. We have always had a plan in our house on what to do in case of a fire etc...However things are changing and we live in  uncertain times. I remember 9-11 Our family was thrown so off base, running around to different places to get kids etc. The government also recommends all families have such a plan:

Remember the parable about the Ant & the Grasshopper? Just wondering...Plus the Wonderful Government does recommend having one

Conmon, I think that is a great idea! What harm could come from being prepared?

conservativemom, I think its a good idea. We have a plan for fires, hurricanes, etc. We found it was really helpful during the 2008 Mother's Day fires. As for other, larger scale emergencies, we meet at the house.

Although this is an important concept, I feel compelled to point out that you do not follow "A" with a vowel.  An Emergency.
