July is National Ice Cream month - like I need a month for someone to remind me to eat ice cream. :D
I thought it might be fun this summer to take my kids and check out some of the different ice cream shops around the county.
So where is your favorite ice cream shop? What is your favorite flavor?
I love Dairy Queen's Peanut Buster Bars. Yummy! Just enough ice cream, chocolate and peanuts.

I love Twisty Cone on Malabar Road near the intersection of Babcock Street. It is a little mom and pop place. My favorite is their peanut butter milkshake made with chocolate ice cream. Maybe this is why I haven't lost my pregnancy weight!! Sigh...I actually lost all 36 pounds, but am steadily putting it back on.

I have two faves! I love Del's Freez on Harbor City Blvd., which has been a well-known hot summer stop in Brevard for a long time! It's an old-fashioned walk-up "mom & pop" little shack that still has the old-fashioned prices to match. Great big milkshakes, soft serve cones, and big hot fudge sundaes are usually my family's choices. The line is always long most nights and weekends!
My next favorite is the fairly new Cold Stone Creamery chain. We love the way they hand mix the ice cream with our choice of toppings! My personal choice is the "Berry, Berry, Berry Good" with vanilla ice cream, raspberries, strawberries, and blueberries - a perfect patriotic choice for July 4th. Hmm, think I have to beg my hubby to go for a little drive right now . . .

Always a fan of ice cream at the beach... used to love Carvel (and miss it still) and now my fav is Scoops of Cocoa Beach across from Coconuts. Great old nostalgic ice cream deco too and something called low fat gellato - splendid!

My family loves to go out for ice cream! We like Dairy Queen, Marble Slab, and Cold Stone, but another fun ice cream spot is Moo's in Indialantic! Very beachy and casual! Unfortunately, I am trying to lay off ice cream right now because I think too much dairy is making my 8 week old son really gassy when I nurse him :( Maybe not eating big old ice cream treats will help me lose those last, stubborn ten pounds!

The July issue of Space Coast Parent has an article about ice cream. There is also a sidebar on local promotions.

Moooooo's! Yummy, fresh, basic flavors, quirky drive-thru set-up, inexpensive, and GREAT hot fudge. They have 2 daily favors of frozen yogurt, too, for the lactose-intolerant (or more health-conscious) set.
Now I gotta leave & go there!

We as a family love Northstar, on Wickham rd. They are open late, until 11 or 12 at nite. We love their Black Rasberry Ice cream. They have homemade ice cream. When ever we have family in town to visit, my DH will ask at like 10pm, u want me to make an ice cream run? Everyone thinks they are going to Walmart for ice cream, instead he takes them to Northstar!! Then its, Northstar, every nite until they leave.

Life is too short to wake up with regrets. Love those who treat you nice; forget about those who don't. If you are given a second chance - grab it with both hands. If it teaches you a lesson ..let it. Nobody said life would be easy.. just worth it.
